Links and Notches
Custom air suspension requires the use of 4-links to let the axle free float with no suspension of any kind. Doing this will allow the newly installed air spring to be the main source of suspension. Some installations require different types of 4-links depending on the application and the overall outcome you are looking for. Universal air ride provides many link options for your front and rear axle if needed. Get a triangulated 4-link kit when you can, or if you need a parallel 4-link to clear a side mounted fuel cell we have that too. Bolt on link kits are also available for certain vehicles.
By incorporating a frame notch, you will allow the axle to travel beyond the frame. Depending on the amount of depth into the frame you are looking for, we have c-notch kits ranging from 1.5 inches to 10 inches. This is the main component that sets your max dorp with a straight axle.
